“Foreign lands never yield their secrets to a traveller. The best they offer are tantalising snippets, just enough to inflame the imagination. The secrets they do reveal are your own - the ones you have kept from yourself. And this is reason enough to travel, to leave home.”—Beyond Tijuana, Graeme Sparkes (via samcnitt)
All apologies for completely disappearing the past few months! I had been traveling for work and the weeks flew by! I’m back for a couple weeks and need to get things back on track, so why not start off with another installment of books to read while abroad! Today’s city is especially wonderful-Madrid, Spain! I studied abroad in Madrid and it was the most amazing experience-definitely study abroad if you have the opportunity!!
“I can’t think of anything that excites a greater sense of childlike wonder than to be in a country where you are ignorant of almost everything. Suddenly you are five years old again. You can’t read anything, you have only the most rudimentary sense of how things work; you can’t even reliably cross a street without endangering your life. Your whole existence becomes a series of interesting guesses…and I can’t imagine anything more thrilling.”—
“Once you have traveled, the voyage never ends, but is played out over and over again in the quietest chambers. The mind can never break off from the journey.”—The Prince of Tides, Pat Conroy (via samcnitt)
